Every now and then I see something that bothers me
enough to just post, and then it stirs the pot a little
until the pot goes back to looking the same. Since there
is no changing minds on here for most people, I feel
less likely to keep posting most times.

Trump is just not going to be liked by some people
regardless of how good or bad he is. They just want him
gone.

I thought Trump wasn't there to be liked though? People looking for that in a president being crazy or something?

I could care less about liking or not liking, I care about hate speech he's shown to have disseminated on a scale of the KKK or he-man women haters anonymous, I care about the massive haul of lies, the multiple connections to what Reagan once called the evil empire and to the nepotistic religious dictatorship of Saudi Arabia.

I don't care about 'like', and I thought the right has been saying for awhile now they didn't? So bring things up from the personal and collecting ignore lists like weird mini-walls. It's no skin off me to read anything, unlike for the pres for whom any reading seems to be heavy lifting.

Before he was even running I called him the billionaire victim, still fits except for the number of billions he's able to pretend to have access to. Promise keeper is the most laughable title though given he promised to release financial and tax information so many times, and guess what... he was never even being audited! Who cares about liking? Some big flaw in people who've ever had to get a job and keep it, ever faced actually physical conflict, or ever drank more than one beer.

But remember, Hillary had a lust for power you could see in her eyes! :^D

You're acting like opinions of him are predetermined and aren't in any way based on his behavior. That's hardly the case.

Are you saying there are no people that instantly black
list him simply because he ran as a Republican at the
start?

Of course, on to the next thing. We'll get him next time for sure. The Mueller report didn't mean anything.

You remind me of Linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin.

*****
Seriously, Paul? WHAT makes you believe I’m moving on and that the Mueller report meant nothing to me??? Sorry you feel I diminished the Mueller report in any way but I’m guessing you just want to push your points across at my expense? As Trump likes to say… sad.

For the record, I was hardly waiting "on the edge of my seat" for Robert Mueller's report in the same way as many others. I knew that it would be PART of a much larger investigation - not the conclusion of everything related to Trump. Let's see if the entire report exposes anything that would assist the other investigations.

_____

Aside from myself, Thomas Woods, and a very occasional other poster, there is no one defending Trump.
*******
Really, it's crazy that anyone thinks Trump is worth defending. There's a laundry list of deplorable things he's said and done that places him at the bottom of the barrel in American presidential history.

Personally, I believe Trump will get what he deserves sooner or later.

P.S. - Thanks Matt for your defense of my earlier post. Appreciate it.

-C!

We don't even have a summary yet from the Mueller report. I think if an independent counsel is going to spend two years looking into this matter, it only makes sense for the complete report to be made public.

Or we run the risk of the findings being filtered through the political bias of the summariser.

Trump has been the archetype for rich, entitled asshole since I was a /child/. From Biff Tannen in BACK TO THE FUTURE II to Daniel Clamp in GREMLINS 2 (only changed from being the villain because the filmmakers found John Glover really charming) to THE ART OF THE DEAL being parodied as Lex Luthor’s biography. His introduction to national headlines was a civil rights lawsuit against him and his father for discriminating against rent applicants who were black. You could not escape the Ivana-Marla Maples scandal in the early 90s. Even his reinvention as a reality show host was predicated on him being an asshole. With 30+ years of Trump acting like an asshole, I find it ridiculous that people want to claim that Trump is being given an unfair shake with regard to his personality.

I’ve encountered him once in person, and he managed to be an asshole then too.

The complete report will never be released (unless it's leaked), nor should it be. Releasing the full report will expose foreign agents, people that cooperated only because they were promised anonymity , investigative tactics that the investigators don't want released, people named without ever being questioned and did not have the chance to answer to innuendo and allegations included in the report, among many other reasons. I don't think much of most politicians, but I realize that all those demanding a release of the full report are smart enough and know better. Well, most anyway. All done for political theatre.

That said, there were millions who loved him, the
media included. Once he ran for president, they
treated him like a joke until he won the nomination,
then they got out their pitch forks.

Him just being on the wrong side was all it took.

I'd say he was treated like a joke (or, to be kinder, a foil) until he won the election. But to say "the pitchforks" came out solely because of the "R" is ignoring reality.

I've asked this before, but what are some examples of this "unfair treatment?" You can't just say "he gets lots of bad press therefore the press is biased". You need to show where other politicians have done the same things but no one cared.

Well, yes. He was loved for being an asshole. That’s an arguably fine quality for entertainment purposes, but a horrifying quality for someone running the country.

He’s been considered a joke far longer than the past 3-4 years.
