Notice something throughout the entire testimony?

Not one...single...GOP official DEFENDED Trump.  Not a single one.
Oh for sure, they bashed Cohen.  Called him a liar. Made it seem like he was out for a buck.  But they never ever said 'Donald trump is NOT the man you are saying he is!"  And they didn't because they know cohen is telling the truth.

Nor did they question the actual accusations Cohen was making. Again because they know its all true.

The worst is yet to come.  Because when the shit hits the fan the GOP will be all that stands between people who know and recognize that our nation is somehow crafting a bigoted, dictator before our eyes...and those who want this dictator running the damn show.

Worst nightmare?  The Mueller report confirms our worst fears.  Trump DID willingly conspire to allow Putin to interfere with the election in return for easing sanctions and letting him off the hook for money he owes the oligarchs.  And the GOP does NOTHING and continues to run interference for him in spite of the report...and possibly encourage their constituents to take action.

This is what Cohen warned us about in his closing statement.  There is the possibility that Trump will not relinquish power when its time.  And his supporters will strike out to defend against what they see as a coup.

Plenty of ugly in our future if we aren't careful.

Elijah Cummings' closing remarks were very much on point to where we are as a nation and how we need to get past all this nonsense. Anyone who missed it should listen to what he said.

I might be a little bias (as someone from the Bronx) but Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's questioning of Cohen was very effective bringing up Trump's tax returns, whether or not he had ever inflated or deflated assets, and tax-fraud allegations.

Charles, based on her questioning and Cohen's answers I would not be surprised to see Weisselberg brought before Congress soon.

AOC was superb.  Her line of questioning was direct with no B.S....no grandstanding....and she hit pay dirt with Trump's taxes/assets.

Cohen basically guided them even more to who they need to talk to next. I've no sympathy for Cohen. He's a bully and a thug, who knew exactly what he was doing and working for. He just shouldn't be the only one to go down over this debacle.

Now the same Republicans who were saying all day yesterday what a waste of Congress's time and money the hearing was want to initiate a perjury investigation against Cohen.  Because, you know...that won't cost any money or take up any time...

Brian, he was right at the front of Cohen's naming names. He'll probably be too dumb to Google countries without extradition to the United States.

Then again, this whole thing is like everybody involved being Fredo from The Godfather.

This is simply disgusting...BUT predictable of Trump...

"He tells me that he didn't know about it and I will take him at his word," Trump said during a news conference, also claiming Kim "felt very badly. But he knew the case very well, but he knew it later."

How anyone can still support Trump is beyond reason. He defends ruthless dictators against anything they do to Americans.

Trump treats the dictators and despots the way he wants to be treated.

In his feeble mind, buttering up to someone is the way to get what you want from them.  It’s why he is surrounded by sycophants and yes men.  It’s why he sucks up to the likes of Kim Jong Un, Putin, MBS and the rest of the Legion Of Doom....which he wants to be a part of so badly.

Trump wants to be just like them...because they get away with the things he will eventually go to prison for.
