Sorry guys, I take the blame for this. I posted a "meme" a couple of pages ago in this thread, which wasn't a meme as such, it was simply a statement in image form:

"How sad it must be - believing that scientists, scholars, historians, economists, and journalists have devoted their whole lives to deceiving you, while a reality-TV star with decades of fraud and exhaustively-documented lying is your only beacon of honesty"

Thomas couldn't see the image, so he decided that this gave him the green light to start posting actual memes as part of his unfathomable support for Trump. Mea culpa.

I think we've learned a couple of valuable lessons today. I'll use quotes instead of memes this time:

"Fools are in the majority, and they never lack confidence because a fool believes that being in the majority is proof that one is right." ― James Rozoff

and

"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits." - Albert Einstein

Thomas, I talk about sex and sexuality all the time....not only with my male friends but with my female friends as well.  I never...ever feel the need to say I want to assault a woman because I can get away with it....because I don’t want to touch any woman without her full consent.

I have what some might consider ‘perverted’ thoughts all the time and you know what?  THOSE THOUGHTS STAY IN MY FUCKING HEAD WHERE THEY BELONG!  Trump appears to be the opposite.

No, I have never backed into a parked car and left the scene.  I have never willingly ‘screwed someone over’. And if I hurt someone I apologize for it.  I don’t like hurting others.  I don’t like when others hurt.  My conscience does its job quit well.   Trump appears to be the opposite.

As for lying....yup, I have.  But my little lies don’t compare to standing in front of the world and lying about situations that effect the lives of millions...and millions of people.

And EVERTHING you accused Obama of in your screed...Trump is doing RIGHT NOW as POTUS.  You think his praise of Putin and other dictators and strongmen is a positive thing?  Really?   You think Brexit is ‘good’?  Really?

Thomas, you are truly a Trump guy.   If you can easily excuse Trump’s behaviors as ‘normal’ or ‘okay’....and if you yourself act in these ways, you deserve the President you have.

He certainly likes to praise Kim Jong Un.

Lets us remind ourselves, that Kim Jong Un is a man that a 2014 UN report concluded was responsible for instituting policies that gave rise to crimes against humanity, including extermination, murder rape, and forced abortions. (LINK

Trump today tweeted that Kim realises how strong North Korea could be economically without nukes, adding "Because of its location and people (and him), it has more potential for rapid growth than any other nation!"

In another tweet, he boasts how he and crimes-against-humanity Kim have developed 'a very, very good relationship.'

Talking about adultery is completely different than committing adultery. Lying to your friends about your business is different than lying to your country about your business dealings. I even think proof that criminal activity has taken place is different from speculating that criminal activity has taken place. I realize others will try to draw a similarity or even a direct comparison, but it seem very disingenuous to say someone's thoughts are exactly the same as their deeds.

The entire discussion is a smokescreen anyway. Remember, Thomas said earlier regarding Trump that: "Throughout the Bible God used terrible men for his goals."

So, by his own admission, Thomas counts Trump as a "terrible man", otherwise the reference has no meaning in this discussion.

Which is it, Thomas? Trump is unfairly maligned, or Trump is one of those terrible men God uses for his goals?

How about we split the difference - Trump is a terrible man that God uses for his goals, but not as terrible as Obama. Which begs the question, why doesn't God use Obama for his goals? Is Trump in the "Goldilocks Zone" of terribility for God to use him?

The Goldilocks Zone of Terribility for God sounds like an interesting place to reside. =)

The Bible says all men are fallen , not one is righteous.
Only saved by grace and nothing to with their good deeds.

On the outside Obama seems to have better manners and than Trump.

But who they are isn’t as important as what direction they want to take
America. If God is actually picking anyone it would be based on that.
Some Christians say Obama was chosen for his time and now Trump is
for this time. Perhaps that pendulum swing was meant to be seen so
we could see the extreme ends show their faces. Who can ever know
for sure though.

I think there is a great deal more separating Obama from Trump than simply "manners". And I am NOT suggesting we focus on the differences in their outward appearance. Since you brought up the analogy, Thomas, if they represent a pendulum swing what do you think the pendulum is swinging toward and from what is it swinging away from?

One last post here for awhile (I'm going to be and am quite busy)... I believe it was I who wrote that Trump doesn't read, not that he can't. He has been reported as totally unwilling to read much of anything of important written reports and material every president as part of their job is expected to read. Obama set up a crash course about the job he would be assuming for Mr. Trump (as he received help from Bush Jr.) and his staff and nobody but a reporter bothered to show up for it or read any of the materials thoughtfully collected up for their success.

Ignoring should be a very rare thing. I haven't done it once here but had to one time each over many years at a couple of other forums. I don't feel any particular need to ignore Thomas, I do feel disappointed he has not shown any interest in finding better information sources, something I am always interested in, unlike the various extreme types and Trump himself. I do agree calling names if you are against a person who does that (especially in a high position) is a mistake while allowing a bit of slack for blowing off steam. Trump has had way too much slack and leniency through his life and had he been held to proper standards would've been prosecuted for the jewelry importation mail and tax fraud rung he was involved in decades ago and lost his casino license in new Jersey and perhaps have been understood by more people as inappropriate for top positions of service and selecting others for those positions.

You could say God had blessed the U.S.A., may it only be found worthy and those most blessed humbled by 'his' grace. There are some good and thoughtful things in the collection of writings called The Bible, too bad some of the most public of professors of the faith show in their actions something far short of having rally thought or learned. The keystone will be that rejected by worldly builders for example, or how all that is hidden will be revealed. Do good works quietly without desire for praise, for the praise you revel in now is all you will ever get. If there is no God it can be useful to act as if there could be one, it can be civilizing to imagine a higher power. Pompously quoting one as being on your side is childish in the extreme. These writings about such things, from the Upanishad Atman, the Jewish Jahweh, Norse thoughts on out being a middle earth or midgard (a crucible where everything is half effed up) the Buddhist immovable spot and all being one from the universal point of view, it belongs to all and there is greater access than ever (despite the pompous in their costumes). Ignore buttons are not just on the internet, if you are re-reading a Spider-Man comic for the twentieth time and never reading Moby Dick or Return Of The Native you are depriving yourself. If you are talking only to someone who agrees with you about things you are a very dull blade. Trying is everything. Look to the timber in your own eye.

Good luck with that.

(edited for typos as my arthritis makes it very difficult some times, please understand if there are any it's almost always because of that)

After that last round of total bs, I've just added Thomas to ignore.
