I can see vetoing the short term continuing resolution IF there were something fundamentally flawed contained within it or something like that, but to veto it based on not getting ONE item that we have done without for over 200 years is a bit akin to (yet another) a political tantrum!

He's a political hack in an age where the public hasn't been so thoroughly and blatantly flim-flammed in quite a while. They think this finger-pointing and swagger is all new; a special Trump innovation he's bringing to the game. They love the bravado and "stick-it-to-the-man" novelty of it all, completely unaware that this is standard-issue behavior for corrupt officials throughout America's political history.
Trump supporters are intensely stupid.

Yes, we can hope that some of the rubes who fell for this guy have gotten enough of an education in con (for confidence scheme) artists. Not to put down rural folks but a lot of them have no clue about some of these creatures who traditionally make their names in big citie. Check the votes in NY and NJ where they were most familiar with Trump's shtick.
Used to be an expression about not being a red dupe... now there are lots of desperate dupes (aside from that basket of deplorables) who thought a successful business man was running. Some will dig in with that desperate need to believe and even more confidence in the face of overwhelming reality, so they can keep pretending they haven't been taken for a ride by a charismatic Jim Jones guy. Maybe to the point of drinking that final batch of scorched earth poison... and forever whining and blaming, like some south will rise again lost causers, about how everyone ( an evil conspiracy) but Trump was wrong. :^(
Keeping people from voting and greeting refugees and immigrants with mistrust and walls is really what built and made 'America' great? It's just the dream of someone born into wealth, never had to get and keep a real job in his life, who feels entitled to force himself on women, stated many times how he thinks of people from other genes inferior to his own, and had to pay someone to write his best seller about what a great deal maker he is (provably fiction, mostly a weaselly deal welcher).
Get well soon U.S.A. We miss you, and yes, we need you!

Really do hope this government shutdown becomes Trump's downfall. I hear if it goes past this week, it'll be the longest shutdown in history.
Not interested in watching his address tonight either... more lies I'm sure... I'll catch highlights tomorrow.

My new hero is New York's freshman House rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was on 60 Minutes and had the guts to call Trump exactly what he is - a straight up racist. I'm disgusted with Trump, and possibly even more disgusted with both Republican and Democratic politicians afraid to call Trump out for the obvious because they are afraid to alienate his base.

So this news week ends with increased calls for Trump to leave office after report claimed he told his lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress!
