This is like Bizarro World. Heads of state and heads of government are supposed to be diplomatic, dignified, etc. If I were a head of state, who perhaps wanted a trade deal with 45, I would not want to be dealing with a person who, if negotiations turned sour, might call me a slimeball.
When is he going to grow up? I bet you his staff, and Pence, are shaking their heads constantly.

People are flipping out because a lady (*comedian hired to roast*) said how she felt about people who suppress and manipulate the truth at an event about celebrating free speech.
Sanders earned that little scorcher... on a daily basis, she misleads the country in the most flagrant ways. Anyone upset by the roast isn't paying attention to the ones doing the REAL harm.

Yes, you can make one or two mistakes on one 'side' and have them equal a thousand plus on the other... that's why sides are dumb ultimately. I don't think most 'conservatives' have actually been conservative for the past thirty or more years anyway, their 'side' is mostly about something else or even plain ridiculous fantasies that work only on their pieces of paper built on leaving out half the information and half the people usually.
That press dinner gala and all the attention it gets pretty much is just going to reinforce the reactionary alt-side loosely aligned behind Trump and /or the Republican party that's left... the insider swamp on lurid display. They would simply invent stuff to be outraged over if someone hadn't said anything risable, plus cook up more insidious conspiracies by taking everything and anything out of context.
So I guess I'm saying going to the far end of a plank is not the best way to balance things. As hard as it might be to not name-call back... who is the competent adult?

Well, Trump just burned all our allies, who worked very hard to structure this nuclear deal with Iran. Oil prices have been rising and are at a 3 year high.
Getting out of the Iran deal is going to hike oil prices further. Who stands to benefit the most with the increase in oil prices? Russia and Saudi Arabia.

That deal could have "easily" been so much much better. "Everyone knows" Obama is not the great deal maker, Trump is, it was in a book, "believe me". But look at all the hard work we're doing in North Korea, "that I can tell you".
Seems a lot of people don't know he didn't really just win the Nobel peace prize, doesn't have a date or agreement to meet with Jong-Un, hasn't gotten the three prisoners released. "Oh well".

This is certainly good news - especially for the families involved, and I'm happy for them.
It's sad that even when something good happens associated with this administration, it seems like there is something suspect and not to be trusted. Given what Trump has just done with Iran, I can't help but wonder why North Korea would trust anything he says.

Yeah yeah, I knew this would be coming when I head the news about the tweets on Korean-Americans released.
After crowing about it well before it happened and blaming Obama somehow for not doing the same thing even though two were not held while Obama was president... this achievement now cancels out all the other problems with the big phony, and now he is raving about stripping credentials from reporters he doesn't like! Second amendment sacred, first not so much?

Many comments, from different view points about the Iran deal, seem to concede that is flawed. The big disagreement, from what I can tell, is throw it out and start from scratch or try to modify it. I would not pretend to know what the right answer is. Too much focus is on Trump dismantling Obama's legacy. Other than "The Wall" most policy changes would be the same under an alternative Republican President.
Trump lies, he inflates his ego with half truths, he screws around, went bankrupt multiple times, he says and tweets inane things. Anyone who is shocked or outraged over this was living in a cave for the last 30 years. Some are able to disassociate the sideshow from the agenda they support.
Also, Canada benefits from increased oil prices, not only the oil and gas producing Provinces but the ones that rely on transfer payments from them. |
