Ron Wilson. Recreation of Marvel Two-In-One 80 cover, which is one of my first comic books. Also, I learned that Ron doesn't light table the drawing but rather re-draws it.

Derek, you are correct about Ron Wilson. I have a Marvel Two-In-One #13 cover re-creation and it is completely redrawn. Growing up, it seemed that Ron Wilson was drawing every Marvel comic book on the rack. He is the man. I have always enjoyed his art.

Nice Wilson piece. I like it even better that he redrew it from scratch. I just googled up the original for comparison. Wilson is definitely one of the "good guys" in my book!

Why in the world does it matter either way that a recreation is done on a lightbox or not? It's a friggin' recreation! As long as it looks like the art it's recreating, the job is done... no matter how the artists does it.boggles the mind...
very nice Wilson commission!

Dave,
That cover doesn't mean anything to me, so I just find it more interesting that he redrew it, with subtle differences, rather than an exact copy.

Dave: "Why in the world does it matter either way that a recreation is done on a lightbox or not? It's a friggin' recreation! As long as it looks like the art it's recreating, the job is done... no matter how the artists does it." I think it shows Ron Wilson is going that "extra mile" so to speak. I would think drawing from a light-box is some what easier than to completely re-draw the cover. And, it is the same thing. The re-drawn cover will be diffrent from the original, which I think would be a good thing. I know that with my Marvel-Two-In-One #13 cover there are little nuances that I like seeing.

Thanks for the comments guys. Now I'd like to find a colorist who can color the image and add in the logo, etc. This is a grail piece for me, even if it isn't the original. Quick turnaround too.

I guess my thinking about recreations is that, if you want a literal recreation then going to the original artist seems like a waste. If I want an old JB cover redone I wouldn't think about going to him to redo it as it'd be a waste of his talents. There are some guys on line who, if you're looking for something that literal, can do an _amazing_ job redoing a cover.
