I was lucky a couple of years ago. I was able to get the complete issue  of uncanny 127 color guides for four hundred. I also picked up the Giant man issue of marvel two (project Pegusus) for a few hundred. I think color guides are fun.

I commissioned this from Dave Sim in March. It was pretty darn quick about 2 weeks. It needs to go to the framer soon.

It was cool making arrangements for the commission. I had called his studio to inquire about commissions. He called me back at work at work the deal was done. It was great seeing Aardvark Vanaheim on the caller ID.  We talked a little about life and the Rolling Stones. Good stuff. Hoping to do another one with Elrod and the Roach in 2011.

Nice piece, David.  I am not familiar with the characters.  What is going on in the scene?

Cerebus the character on far right has drank to much ale. The woman he is laying on is his girl freind. The guy on the right is Lord Julies (think Groucho Marx). He is making a joke about Rigamortis setting in. The title of the piece is Drinky-Poos at Rigatoni Morty's. If you like humor you should check it out . The first 150 issues are amazing. The second half of the series was kinda serious, but still pretty good stuff.

Thanks for the explanation, David.  What size is the board?

Love that Cerebus piece.
Just recently finished volume fourteen of the phone books.  I really have to say I enjoy the series, although I certainly do not agree with Sim on his gender views.  Mostly, I think the comic itself tends to be open to readings Sim most likely did not intend, which I think is part of that equation, his annotations while... interesting... are sometimes a different matter though. I've been portioning out the second half of the series a bit in order for that not to ruin the reading experience. (Two more volumes to go.)
