I have seen three UFOs, on different occasions, not counting several meteors (one of which was truly spectacular.)Of the three, two I could easily explain as natural phenomena. But the third… I was flying over eastern Canada, heading back to Calgary after a New York con. It was probably 1978 or so. Glancing out the window I saw a fighter jet coming up hard and fast. Shades of STAR TREK! I looked to my right, so see where it was headed, and saw a silvery object shaped like one of those wooden mushrooms used for darning socks. I couldn’t get a sense of its size or distance. I looked back to the jet to confirm its flight line, and when I looked back to the object it was gone. The whole thing took maybe four seconds, and the jetliner I was in flew past the angle for optimal viewing. Back in Calgary I spent about a week checking the newspapers for anything that sounded like what I had seen, but there was nothing.
