Opportunity to be enlightened is not a get out of bigotry jail free card. How insulting to those of us that have been on the other end of this condemnation over the centuries. My spouse's mother was a raging Cathoholic, and she tortured him until her death, never letting him forget the cardinal sins he was committing and refusing to acknowledge our marriage or my place in his life. All of that was because some old guy told her that some book, a complete work of fiction, said she had to. It's a cult that demonizes, and even destroys, any person that doesn't bend to its irrational will. Fuck it and the old guy that heads it.
