She and Dean Cain can start making movies together.

The recent story about Cain getting a job with ICE turned out to be fake news; he was named an "honorary ICE officer". I got a kick out of every actor I know roasting Cain about needing work.

Honorary ICE Officer huh, bet you his relatives that were in Japanese Internment camps would fully back him up.  What an asshat.

For anyone living in DC, I'm sorry I didn't realize your city was basically a post apocalyptic waste land. The liberal media never tells us how things really are. I can hardly wait to see all the bad guys hanging from street lights. Trump needs to declare a national emergency to make sure elections don't happen until all the cities are cleaned up.

The speech was scary. The implications are scary. How bad is DC really?
Good luck to all of us.

*******

This is exactly what I’ve been saying he’s going to do.

I wonder if him suspending elections (it'll happen) will finally be the tipping point to how much we can take from this administration.

His cult will buy that it's necessary. They buy absolutely
everything he sells. They're too invested to do anything
else now.

Don’t know how long that info will remain on the government’s website considering they’ve taken down and/or manipulated a number of facts to align with this admin. Here is the relative info:

WASHINGTON - Total violent crime for 2024 in the District of Columbia is down 35% from 2023 and is the lowest it has been in over 30 years, according to data collected by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and announced by United States Attorney Matthew M. Graves.

In addition to the overall violent crime reduction, homicides are down 32%; robberies are down 39%; armed carjackings are down 53%; assaults with a dangerous weapon are down 27% when compared with 2023 levels, with the District reporting the fewest assaults with dangerous weapons and burglaries in over 30 years.

I live adjacent to DC and there is crime, like everywhere but as Matt notes crime is down from an aberrant uptick post Covid (in 2023).

There are still carjackings and things but I feel very safe around here.

This is continuing authoritarian tactics by the thug-in-chief, a provocation against DC whose citizens roundly (and nearly uniformly) are opposed to Trump and his goons.

Yeah. This is just getting pieces in place for the midterms.

He's apparently invoking section 740 of the Home Rule Act.

Section 740 gives the President of the United States the authority to commandeer the DC Police Department*  in “conditions of an emergency nature.”

(*Only allows the DC Police to be federalized for up to 48 hours.)

So, what emergency?? Can it be any worse that Jan. 6th??

-C!
