Let that be a lesson, Sentinels: next time, take out Xavier first!

Hopefully, there won't be a next time. After all, the world's smartest man made that virus, and its effects are permanent!

A small joy of this project is knowing I can declare something “permanent” without fear of a later writer (or a writer with whom I am “collaborating”) undoing it.

BTW, I had the rather alarming realization the other day that the President who authorized WIDEAWAKE was most likely Trump!

In that vein, I figure  creators in all mediums will now shelve Nixon as their go to dreadful President in favor of "La Grande Orange".

It was my understanding, these Sentinel attacks were the “early day events” that would eventually lead to a “Days Of Future Past” outcome.

My questions are...

1) Did Reed just prevent DOFP from happening in the Elsewhen timeline?

2) In the timeline established in Uncanny X-Men #141, why didn’t Reed implant the device and stop the Sentinels in the same way?

Thank you to anyone who can answer the questions — I’m just trying to wrap my head around the differences in the timelines... and why those differences occurred.

❤️

Nathan, butterfly effect perhaps? Elsewhen continuity is already different from X-Men 141 re: Jean not being dead (or at the bottom of the bay). While she didn't play a direct role (as far as we know) in this Sentinel battle, perhaps the X-Men were in different places when this went down...perhaps Reed's success at shutting them down this time was due to a razor thin margin.
