This is fun to see.  Thank you, Mr. Byrne.

JB, maybe others have already asked this but would you consider videoing your penciling? I think some time-lapse videos of your drawing would be REALLY COOL and VERY INSTRUCTIVE.

Thanks for sharing these by the way.

Is the fabulous 50 still around? Wasn't 50,000 sales what could be counted on when JB was drawing a comic book? That'd be one of the top-seller's nowadays for most Marvel books. Marvel should just take a practical approach and forget the past. Sell some books, make some fans happy.

The 50,000 shrank proportional to the shrinking of the audience as a whole.

It would be fantastic if IDW could somehow license certain Marvel characters, like the X-Men, FF or Captain America for an old school comic series. Marvel would get a cut of the profits and it wouldn't affect their timeline. Marvel has done co-productions with other publishers in the past, so there is a bit of a precedent.

I'm guessing the cost to IDW would probably be prohibitive, I'm also guessing that Marvel might not like somebody else playing in their sandbox.

It'd be way cool to see though.

It would be nice if (as a courtesy) DC did that with Nudge and Grunt so that JB
could create new stories with them.

I just noticed how some of the freeing and refreshing feeling in these pages is being able to see this team without the shadow of Phoenix's death. -- I mean, I know that was always the intent, but I just realized that it was working!

Ahhhh.... Breathing out a sigh. There they are again. It's the X-Men!

Yeah, I've been feeling that too, Mark. Like -- pretentiousness alert -- a rebirth.

It feels really good. As you all can probably tell.

Just don't quit this imaginary book, or you'll have to deal with another 40 years' worth of imaginary Bad Byrne Stories!

Anyway, this is awesome! Makes me want to re-read HIDDEN YEARS.

Jinkies! Just realized I've been miscounting in my head and, including the one currently on the board, this is up to SEVEN pages already!

This "issue" may need to be double-sized!

Well, as Connie in Terry & The Pirates might've said "Hotsy puppy!"

Might as well just hope Terry Austin could ink something for 'auld lang syne', but Bob Wiacek, Dan Green, Joe Rubinstein, Doug Hazlewood... even that underrated inker John Byrne we are seeing right here... I would be happy with more of any of this... I am happy right now to see and read the real X-Men again! Yes, let's just be happy. Turning the news off now. :^)
