2 random questions if I may:
1. Does the return to this time period include any characters in those Kirby-esque "tucked in shirt" style you did so well with your early FF run and with the X-Men school uniforms? I LOVE the way you used that style; it gave the FF such a retro feel during that part of your run, same for Kitty, a real connection to the past.
2. Are there any other stories from your X-men run (108 - 137) that you wish you could've also "Elsewhen-ed" (some place you would have liked to have diverged from where it originally went)?

Occasionally some of that will happen organically, but I am not plotting anything deliberate.

The Savage Surfer story-line from Silver Surfer 18 was continued 29 years later in Webspinners 4-6. Pencils by Keith Giffen.•• Didn't know that. Wish I still didn't.

Sorry, I meant those little lines above the belt line that make unrealistic superhero costumes look like they could be real fabric in the real world that the majority of artists miss ( I know it's costume specific, but it definitely adds retro realism to the costumes)

Mu opinion: JB handles the "tucked in shirt" in a more believable way now. I still love the art of his FF run -- but the (sorta) recent example below, feels much more real to me.

Yeah, JB's fabric rendering is up there with Ditko (who I think had a better feel for drapery than Kirby). Beautiful stuff. Minimal line with maximum impact.

Just got the itch to look for examples of Ditko's drapery, and stumbled on this one. Holy crap. That's some ink-slinging.

I never sensed an Eisner-Ditko connection before (maybe I'm dense) -but I
sure sense it on THAT page!
I guess I figured he came fully formed from the head of Zeus. Did Ditko
actually have "influences"?

Mark: Ditko bios say he was a fan of Mort Meskin, and there you can definitely see the influence.
