Speaking of after all these years, on the day after Thanksgiving 1980, my Dad and I went to get haircuts together and on the way, I convinced him to stop at the Majik Market on 4th Ave. in Bessemer, AL. where we lived so I could look for comics to read that weekend, and I picked this up, not knowing at the time it was JB's last issue. Now, 38 years later, I get the same thrill as I did then seeing you working with these characters again. Thank you sir!

Marvel just announced a new series of trade paperbacks collecting the most popular X-Men events from across the team's more than 50 years of history.
The Dark Phoenix Saga is one of the upcoming volumes...
(Boy, that's an awkward cover -- maybe it's not final)
JB's X-Men run is constantly being reprinted... I'll be incredibly surprised if Marvel passes on publishing this new Elsewhen series.

Colossus doesn't bleed•• Hm. Hadn't really thought about it, but I wonder. We don't really know the exact nature of the transformation--what goes on inside. When I got on the book, people asked if his organs also turned to steel, and I would say probably, or they'd all have gooshed down into his feet from those times he jumped from great heights. But blood? Some equivalent, surely. But likely not red.

My statement is based on events that you may not agree
with. During Chris' run he was metal all the way
through and didn't need to breath, he bled energy much
like the energy signature you see when he transforms.
He didn't need to eat or breath. And later he was
shown to be as impervious to magic as he was physical
harm (I liked this because it would help explain why
he could hurt Juggernaut at least a little).
Of course various writers choose to ignore half of
these things throughout the years.

If I were the writer it would be based on the strength
behind it. I would say Wolverine would not be strong
enough to get through, but most writers make it cut like
a lightsaber, no strength required.

The closest equivalent to Colossus skin is steel, thru which Wolverine's claws can cut with little effort.As to Peter being impervious to magic, there is no context in which that makes sense.

During the Mutant Massacre Colossus was wounded, but
saved by Magneto who sealed his wounds. But this left
Colossus stuck in armored form and paralyzed. Before
this his human form was what he reverted to by default
(if he fell unconscious or some other reason), but now
his armored form became his default state. He was off
the team for many issues.
He returned during the Inferno story line. Since he
was stuck in armored form so long, he became much
stronger, tougher, and this is when the resistance to
magic came up (which played a role in the fight
against magic enemies).
Chris really hyped up the power boost during this
time, but over the years it seemed to be forgotten.
