Have you ever used the Red Ghost in a story? I can't remember a JB Red Ghost / Super Ape story.

Nope. Wanted to. On the list of bad guys who didn’t make my FF run.

JB: Been kicking around some ideas in my head. Wondering if those
epaulets on Kurt and Peter should be flattened, like Wolverine and Kitty.

**

Oh, mixed emotions be still!

These are such classic Cockrum elements. And, even so, no one draws the
epaulets as well as JB, in my opinion.

But, on Peter, less epaulets will likely mean more visible arm muscles -- and
one of the great delights in seeing JB's X-Men is seeing Peter's metal
muscles.

Good thing this whole book is purely hypothetical!

I would vote, if given such a thing, for Nightcrawler's epaulets to be kept as they were. I could see it maybe working for Colossus to have slightly trimmer ones.

Viz: Nightcrawler's pointy shoulders, I was thinking something like this:

Nice page! LOTS of different textures and layers to get that page to look like it has depth. It could very easily get flattened out by the inking. Pages like that can look deceivingly simple, but end up hard as nails.

That's an amazing page.  I can almost hear the waves crashing up on the rocks as the storm swirls.

I love the flattened shoulders!  It gives a bit of a more "uniform" look to their costumes, without slapping an "X" on them.  Parenthetically, I hated hated hated when those Xs were added later, 'cause I couldn't see Wolverine agreeing to it.

Excellent pages. How you can convey so much movement and energy on a still page, I do not know. I like the Nightcrawler image - it kind of makes sense that a character so acrobatic would have less visual distraction near his head. Thanks for so much fun!

Great pencil drawing JB!

I can go along with that Nightcrawler change, looks good and it's not drastic.
I also liked the change  that was made long ago by extending the "V" down past his belly. (You did that, right JB?)
