Man, 12 issues of this would almost be too good to be true. Here's hoping.

Technically, I guess, it’s 13.

As I have this in my head, the first half of the year builds to a two parter in 6 and 7, then the second half builds to a double-sized 12. And that issue ends on a moment that sets up 13.

Except for that mid-year two parter these would all be single issue stories, with the subplots providing the connective tissue (ie, the encouragement to come back for the next issue).

Ha! There are now three thumbs down.

Some people are just so sad.

HERE’S a hard reminder of what I’m going to be up against if this becomes a real series—all those post-me Claremontian retcons (which are mostly contradictions, but which, as we see here, generations of fans have totally embraced), not to mention the post-Chris gobbledegook!

Does it really matter though? If it is possible go for it.

You are a wonderfully talented artist and writer, make this amazing thing happen on your terms.

The world is full of tedious and obnoxious people, forget them and deliver the thing that clearly is pleasing you at the moment and is exciting people who hold your work in such high regard.

And hopefully, some fresh faces can get on board too.

I believe the recent X-MEN: GRAND DESIGN books attempted to retell the team's complex history by weaving in all of the retcons and such as if they'd always been planned. A pretty ambitious attempt to reconcile and smooth out all of the bits and pieces of lore, but ultimately futile, I think.

I also think that this series should be treated much as NEW VISIONS was: Ignore what later creative teams did, and just be true to the original source material. If this is essentially a non-canon/WHAT IF?-type story, then it should be allowed to diverge however you like. To heck with all of those subsequent retcons!

Nah. I know what you mean. But the internet gives loud voices to small minds.

I do think there's a lot of good will here for this and so much excitement too.

So basically, no pressure, except for all of us just begging for this!

Joking aside, a big thank you for all those wonderful stories.
