JB: The events that followed 137 turn further and further from their original paths as this series progresses. Jean didn’t die, but was left with the intellect of a five year old.

---

I'm picturing the marketing for this potential series -- "A new, all-ages comic aimed at everyone -- except Jim Shooter"

If this series see print I would love to see references of other characters in your title, not always obviously, but as often as possible. Because it is clear to me that Jean's non-death would change many events and the Marvel universe would be really different.

It's great to not just see these characters we love but to hear them as well. Wonderful how you fit so much into two pages. Decompressed storytelling is not my thing; this is an enjoyable pace for me.

JB: ... And there is one major reveal that came long after 137 that will form a significant thread in my new tapestry.

My model here would be any standard Marvel book of those days, with occasional guest stars, but mostly operating as a fully independent entity.

That van might be the "realest" piece of technology I've ever seen on a comic book page.

The thought put into the loading area makes me feel like I'm looking at an upgraded real world van – as if it were pulled straight from the accessibility options at Disney world. Professor X is so much more human when we see what he has to deal with in his everyday life. It's not all astral planes and hoverchairs.

The van was a bit of fortunate happenstance. I’d been thinking I’d like to address Xavier’s disability from more of a real world stance, and got to thinking we needed something more practical than the Rolls.

Lo and behold, as I was coming out of the grocery store the other day there was exactly what I had in mind, parked next to my car. So I whipped out my iPhone and snapped a few pictures from the four sides. Then I customized it for my purposes!

These pages have been pitch perfect - such a great experience to see this progress on the thread.  I think the STAR TREK: NEW VISIONS thread is still the Forum’s shining moment, but this thread is certainly giving it a run for its money!

For me, the best aspect of this would be Cyclops - he is the connective tissue between JB’s origin al run and X-MEN: HIDDEN YEARS, and seeing him here it’s such a great treat.

The pencils having grown so much tighter as I tinker, I confess I am being tortured by a burning need to go back and REDRAW all the earlier pages.

AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

There is a big difference between these past two pages and your earliest Elsewhen pages. A huge jump in economy of line in my opinion and on some figures on these latest pages you could almost publish from darkened pencils. Those three people in the foreground of panel three on the first page just need a little line weight to show their distance to the reader.
