X’s age was a mystery. In the first issue he told Jean his parents had worked on the first atom bomb, and the implication seemed to be that his mutation had been caused by that. In 1964, that would have made him 20-something. Later, tho, he was shown fighting in the Korean war, which bumped him into his thirties.

Speaking of Soda Shops vs Bunkers, my absolute favorite background / setting was James and Heather's apartment in Alpha Flight.  It was just so naturally realistic / organic as a backdrop for the couple with the all the tiny details that made it look "lived in". ( I even drew out a floor plan to make sure I knew where all the rooms were in relation to each other!)   I totally agree that your subtle realism has always been the best

So great to read that page!  It’s been a treat to see these characters again, but I think the real fun will be getting to hear JB’s dialogue.

With Willy here, I hope Byrne's Caliban is coming soon! And perhaps some new new mutants (maybe 2)!
About the "Why no Cerebro" comment, I have a possible explanation but...

Let it unfold. Try not to suggest or you kill our ability to be getting a peek.

That's the reason of the "but..." and no explanation!

SO MUCH FUN!

Thank you for sharing!

I love the relationships and small conflicts/resolutions here. Of course, Kitty is sure she has a boyfriend-- whether he knows it or not! I forgot about that.

In this series, did Kitty face a mansion-destroying demon alone one night?

The events that followed 137 turn further and further from their original paths as this series progresses. Jean didn’t die, but was left with the intellect of a five year old. That’s a big stone to drop into this particular pond. How do the ripples impact upon what we think we know?

One idea I have in mind is to refer to some of those stories without repeating them. And there is one major reveal that came long after 137 that will form a significant thread in my new tapestry.
