I suppose there is one idea from that era that is fundamental-- the problem of
Jean Grey/Phoenix. Otherwise, I would hope (if this were real) that all bets are
off and that anything within the expanse of the entire Marvel Universe is
possible without reference to what has been discussed or printed anywhere
else.
--------

Besides holding no expectations and just enjoying whatever the esteemed Mr. Byrne produces, I personally view this as one magical "choose your own adventure" experience:  "if you want to see what COULD have happened, read Elsewhen #1, otherwise continue onto issue 138..."

or maybe like the ending(s) to the movie "Clue"

Important Note: I really would not want to sell this purely on nostalgia. It has to be able to sink or swim on its own strengths.

I see it more like unfinished business. To be honest, the stories and where they may lead are the buzz factors for me (followed very, very closely by the art!).

Nice work on colors Tony Marin. I'm coloring another page that was inked by someone else. While I like your modern approach I'm coloring it in a similar style to Glynis Wein back in the day. I'll post it when I'm done.

It’ll Be interesting to see what you come up with. I’ve tried to colour it in a  more “retro” style. It’s bloody hard.

Do you plan to share your “retro” version?

When I’m happy and confident with it I guess. I know in your career you‘ve done it all nearly but did you ever do the full art of a book right down to the colours?

Well I think that if it doesn't interfere with Mr.Byrne's plans for Kitty Pryde, he could still use the New Mutants idea with his Caliban and Willie Evans Jr.
If he needs them, he could create new members or use other already existing "contemporary" characters as Thunderbird II (Classic X-Men #3), Wolfsbane (Classic X-Men #2), Karma (Marvel Team-Up #100), Syrin (UXM #148),...

The more you stick to the core team, the one used in
these pages, the more successful it will be.

I would minimize adding guest stars, and other
characters. It seems Marvel fell into a trap that the
more they shake things up, the more readers they will
get. This probably worked for a while, but it has been
the norm ever sense and is crap.

I hope we can hold off on proffering suggestions and just appreciate whatever
JB decides to do. As well-meaning as we may all be, I worry that offering
unsolicited advice here may be akin to dumping a bucket of water on a flame
that could otherwise grow into a roaring fire...

The very nature of this project is such that many ideas flow “organically” from the existing patterns. So many suggested ideas are very likely to match what I’ve already imagined.

I really don’t want a situation where I do something — even something developed 38 years ago — only to have someone yelp “ That was MY idea!”
