I bought the Giant-Man bust, armless tho it is, with the Wasp sitting on his
shoulder. It's kind of a token representation, as I didn't like it, as a kid,
when Ant-Man became what I could not help but read as GI Ant-Man.

Is there an Ant-Man statue/bust? (Not an action figure!)

Yes, there's an Ant-man bust.  No statue that I know of, though.  I too bought the Giant-man bust (and the Ant-man) because I liked that character so much as a kid.  Those are two of the three busts I have.  (The other being the original Wolverine Trimpe bust).

But, I'm looking at the Ant-man Marvel Legends figure as we "speak" and it's not so bad.  I've kinda got a classic Avengers thing going on around my computer.

Do you know if Captain Mego takes commission requests or if he sells his customs?  Charlee doesn't make enough anymore to feed my need for these - and the ones you posted look pretty damn good.  I need those.

I was hoping the site name would get someone where they needed to go.  I'm pretty sure he does do commissions as well as sell his completed customs.  I don't post on there very much but the few that I have communicated with seem pretty decent.  Good luck.  Maybe we'll see a few Byrne inspired Mego customs?  <hint, hint>

I kind of dig this Gray Hulk action.

It reminds me a lot of a promotional image I recall for RAMPAGING HULK magazine, the first issue, that was in the "Bullpen Bulletins" back in the late 70s, by Walt Simonson. One of the truly GREAT Kirbyesque Hulk images ever.

gerry turnbull! Sir, do you know the one I mean? Is there a scan? It shows the square head Kirby Hulk by Walt Simonson, with the floating heads of General Ross, Betty, and Rick Jones, UFOs buzzing around the Earth perhaps? The Hulk is visually striking in black and white, charging forward with a fist cocked, other hand pointing right at the reader from the promo.

I was thinking about this when I saw the new DC Direct Armored heroes line, and the Iron Man shots in this thread kind of brought it to prominence in my head. The Armor line has Supergirl and Power Girl in the guise of Kandorian superheroes Flamebird and Nightwing. Their armor is functional in that it gives them powers in an environment where they would be normal humans. The armored Aquaman looks like a traditional suit of armor, that the King of the Sea might wear going into a long battle against a foe with superior firepower.

The Batman armor, on the other hand, basically turns him into Iron Man with a Bat symbol on his chest. Maybe I'm a purist, but isn't the whole point of Batman  that he is a supremely skilled fighter and brilliant mind, who is so good that he can hold his own in the JLA?

The minute you put him in a complete armor suit, you are as much as admitting he can't cut it with normal human skills. In fact, the minute you put him in an armor suit, you have to question why he doesn't always wear it to fight crime. I understand that DC Direct needs a cool figure to anchor their line, but I think that the armor look for this figure is so overdone that it defeats the Batman concept.
