I said much the same thing to a friend of mine named Alan when his wife was using his car.  It had a personalized license plate reading  A TOY 4 AL.

Looking at the ALPHA sequence, above -- here it is with true blacks.
Perhaps this gives a better idea of why I like the "red chrome" look.

And what makes that "Alex Ross" as distinct from, oh, say, Dave Cockrum?

Oh, right. The toadies will buy more if it says "Alex Ross" on it.
