I personally know tons of people who object to the current president, and the makeup of the legislature, and that legislature's incessant kowtowing to Trump.
I don't know anyone who is upset (or gives a quanta of a £ü¢ķ) about Sydney Sweeney or her ad. Do any of you? It's like some kind of "Bad Liberal Story" that's meant to paint the left as across-the-board crazy.

Always there have been some small minded people who are happy only if they are being offended. If they have a crusade with which to upholster their otherwise empty lives. Sadly, the internet has provided magnification for these otherwise insignificant trolls.

Those of us more informed in this country tend to not realize just HOW MANY of our fellow Americans are not actually aware of how many despicable acts those that make up the Trump administration have committed:

I think our host was redirecting this post here-Wasn't sure quite where to put this but I think it's ultimately more of a general topic so I'm putting it here... Gina Carano backed by Elon Musk's immense fortune sued Disney and Lucasfilms and the media, again, bent the knee. I'm sincerely and deeply concerned that the oligarchs and Trump, with their endless resource will essentially ALWAYS get corporations to settle simply because the corporations have a perception of risk/benefit that turns ethical arguemnts into financial decisions. Trump is also weaponizing the government to harm corporations and other institutions that don't capitulate to him.
There is some argument that these companies and institutions are capitulating because ultimately they laregly agree with a fascistic/ corporartist worldview but I'm not sure. |

What's weird is how many are trying to spin Carano settling as a win for her. If she had such a strong case she shouldn't have settled. Disney chose to settle rather than burn resources fighting the richest man in the world.
Now the right is spinning it as vindication, even though she was spreading anti-vaccine and election lies... plus comparing mild online backlash to the persecution of Jews.
Let's see if Disney/Lucasfilm really have any intention of hiring her for role in any future projects.

Carano isnt going to be working much now that producers know she will sue if she says something hateful and receives consequences. She isn't enough of a draw to risk that unless you are only making content for MAGA.

Not that I expected better of Facebook, but last week it promoted a post to me that was a fake news article about the execution of a trans military official and public figure. Facebook didn't provide an option to report it for hate speech or false information. My only options were to see more or less from the poster.
