There are so many political threads now, I’m unsure where to post this. But since it’s about Musk & Trump, I’ll put it here. The teaming up of Trump & Musk on Twatter has been truly scary to watch. Musk claims more people go there for news than anywhere else, but makes no comments about the validity of that news - I no longer have a clue what posts are real, lies, by humans, by bots, by posting farms, from the people, from Russia etc. No clue whatsoever.
The post truth age has been a slip, slide a-coming for years, & campaigns have always bent the truth, but the drip drip drip movement & reclassification, such as ‘economical with the actualities’ & ‘alternative facts’ have led us to a place where anything goes & no one gives a damn.
This plane crowd stuff over the past day or so is incredible. Was there a crowd, was the photo enhanced, are there any posted photos from the crowd, is the reflection correct or not. Just endless.
I’m tending to use a filter of ‘if multiple posts arrive near the same time, saying the exact same words, chances are is from a bit farm.
But that Musk is perfectly happy for his platform to just be a truth/lie free for all When clearly he is happy to post unmitigated lies as well - see his posts about the UK for example - thus adding validity to the lies, for me, shows the real reason why he bought it in the first place.
I used to think Bond villains were a bit far fetched. Trump & Musk have dispelled me of that notion. That 50% of Americans fall for this crap & believe it, will justify it & support it, even when the lunacy of it is explained as if talking to a 5 year old, & a massive percentage across the world will also believe/support this, means we really do stand on the edge of failing as a race.

Heard Trump praised Musk, the "greatest cutter," for laying off striking auto workers. LAYING OFF AUTO WORKERS. Seriously?
That "interview" was just two rich weirdos trying to manipulate the public with their propaganda and bots.
Did Musk gain Trump any voters? NOPE.

Did Musk gain Trump any voters? NOPE.••• In the words of my cousin David, STOP MAKING SENSE. Musk has his own brand of madness, and those that swallow his pill might not be entirely Trumf worshippers. This exercise in ego buffing might well have added to Trumf’s numbers. And we know anything he says doesn’t seem to scare his people away.

The influenceable muskers were never going to vote for Harris. Trump is competing with Kennedy for their support.

The easiest* solve for Musk is simply for every official media organization to vacate their Twitter presence and to remove its centrality from the journalists and other news media creators ecosystem who currently have to have a presence there.
*or I guess that's "easiest", as it requires a rethink of about a decade's worth of media strategy. But it's time to pull that band-aid.

UAW files Federal Labor charges against Trump & Elon Musk for attempting to intimidate and threaten workers.
Yeah, this can't be good news for the campaign.

Now this might be bloodbath Trump said was coming. He named the industry, but the victim in the bloodbath might be his campaign...

Leadership is a very different story from rank and file - and the divide between traditional leadership and the groups they represent (be it unions or the military) is the wedge that Trump is an expert at using.

Trump from his private golf club today: The stock market is going to crash like it's 1929.
Image on bottom of screen: Dow above 40,000 and nearing record highs.
His dementia is progressing right before our eyes!

Let’s not go down that road. My mother suffered from dementia for ten years. It’s not something I would ever wish on anyone. Not even Trumf.
