I'd say it's time for a new Byrne Wolverine costume....

Let's all agree not to guess or suggest which character is getting a new costume.

Oh, and balloons, please.

No question that I vote balloons - presenting this art as pencils only will inevitably lead to people taking a stab at inking the pages.  If you offer just the script, then people will put their own balloons and captions in themselves, and then characters will be wearing dialogue for a hat and the page won’t flow as well.

Where the balloons and captions boxes are placed is critical to the aesthetic flow of the page.  I think it will be fun to see people take a stab at inking this, but it will be painful to see poorly placed balloons ruin the page

And if you don’t put in your own balloons, we run the risk of the inkers editing your text in an effort to “fix” your dialogue.  Putting in the balloons bakes it into the page!

Remember, except in extremely rare cases, books are no longer lettered on the art, so inkers don’t have to work around the balloons.

Digitally I'm fine either way, just glad to be able to read it.

JB if this project did come to fruition (published by Marvel) would you or could you get a say on the paper used? I would love to see it printed on Baxter Paper (was Trio printed on Baxter?), I'm not a big fan of the paper used on most comics today.

I’m going to try for Baxter or something like it, if this happens. And, please! Easy on the “airbrush” coloring! (I still have nightmares about opening an issue of CHAPTER ONE to find Norman Osborn wearing green glass trousers!)

I was just looking at some of your before (pencil inks) and after (airbrushed coloring) on a web page and felt the airbrush coloring took a lot away from your art.

Gary Cody has complained for decades about his green sports coat in ALPHA FLIGHT!
