It is always SO nice to see old friends come out of your pencil, JB.••• You touch here on something that has fascinated me since I was a kid. Somewhere in Germany, years ago, this particular lead was manufactured. And this drawing was in it. Not literally, of course. Not in the sense that someone else could have used my pencil to produce this drawing. That was in me. But I love the idea of all these pieces coming together, down thru years, so I could scratch some graphite onto a sheet of bristol (also coming together after years and years) and make this drawing. Almost makes me believe in Fate.

Fate is a four letter f-word. :)
If this page goes on to be published, then I would definitely believe in fate.

Ahhhhh, seeing these drawings of UNCANNY X-MEN really takes me back to the good ol' days yet it's got that modern JB style!
However you manage to "scratch some graphite onto a sheet of bristol" and create these pages, JB... I could get used to it!!
Honestly, JB... thank you for sharing this. Much appreciated from this ol' X-MEN fan.
-C!

It's a kind of magic!
I can't imagine doing something like this and not feeling it yourself as the artist, a subtle high of satisfaction. Something that can keep you going? :^)

Sometimes, it's fun to see my old friends, still fighting the good fight. Thanks X-Men, for getting me through some rough teen years. And thanks to John, for all the fun over the years.

Beautiful pencils, JB. Thanks for sharing.
The third panel is really cool, how the shape of the panel actually fits the action within (or perhaps more correctly, how you drew the action to to cleverly fit the shape of the panel), with the wider part housing Wolverine and Sauron and the narrower bit containing the flying Storm.

IMO, you know it's good story telling when you can hear the voices in your head, even without a script.
