Questions for anyone regarding framing:
Going to get a couple of pages framed. Was wondering what types and sizes people get. Also, how much UV protection is recommended? Is there a proper size of mat or none at all? Any help would be great.

It would be 11X17. Black and white art.

Thanks.

I have had several pieces framed and found it very addictive once I started. Typically I go for a bigger framed piece, with 4 1/2" to 5" inches of matting around the piece. Though I've done smaller matting dimensions, one constant for me up until this point had been the use of double matting. It costs more, but seeing a black matt with brick red trim around my Spider-Man pages or green trimmed around my hulk page is just cool.

My understanding of the library glass/UV protection is that unless it is going to be exposed to direct sunlight or a room with tons of it, that it is overkill.

Have fun with the process.

Michael,

The framed piece I posted above is an 11x17 commission with 1.5" of matting around it.  I think that's the perfect way to do it!

Thanks Dave.  I was contemplating rearranging all my framed commissions in a hallway with a tan color on the walls and I decided not to because of how much I like the green behind them as well.  Thanks for noticing!
