I finally caved a picked up one of these today at the comic shop, Captain America is now on my shelf above my computer at work.  Of course, now he looks alone and I'll have to pick up another 2 or 3 just in case.

I stopped by a different LCS today and they had a Spiderman that I thought would be impossible to get, so I got it.  Then I saw a Daredevil with a nice paint job, so I got it, and I couldn't get Daredevil without a Bullseye, and so it goes.  I stayed relatively strong though and held off on the Iron Fist, Captain America, Punisher, and Spiderman Black special edition.

Don't worry Ron !!! we all know what you have been through at the store, and by experience I can tell you one thing : you will be back to buy them anyway, so do yourself a favor next time : buy them all at once, you will save yourself a lot of remorse since you know you will buy them anyway ...

It's interesting that Superman's emblem has black outlines. Hmmm...

Literally just picked up Galactus in my lunch break - beautiful and weighs a ton. Pricier than I thought it'd be but worth it

Yeah, I saw Galactus on my lunch break too, a nice statue, but this devourer looks a little hungry for my liking. I think I'll stick with Bowen's 20" version to display with my figurines.

Fair enough. I don't have the problem of displaying it next to the other, smaller, figurines - until my divorce is finalised I'm not displaying anything. Then everything can come out - the figurines plus artwork by Jim Lee, Neal Adams, Alan Davis, Adam Hughes, Brian Bolland and our very own JB!

Can't wait!

I saw the Galactus figurine in the flesh last night (my best mate bought it) and, I have to say, they've done a great job. I just wish he was larger. Having said that, with lead prices jumping 40% in 2007 I'm not surprised he's a little under-sized. Eaglemoss might have to start stripping lead from church roofs to accomodate our passion for these things!

Simon: you got original Bolland and Adams artwork? Wish I did!

Anthony - not to derail the thread but the art breaks down as follows:

Jim Lee - one of the really nice ink/wash flashback pages from the Hush storyline in Batman and a Catwoman sketch

Bolland - a Killing Joke prelim, a beautiful Penguin ink sketch (although sketch is a bit harsh a word for it) and a Sgt Rock piece Brian sent me a few years back (it's been posted before - I think one of our Scottish friends  - Gerry or Gordon - might have resized it for me so may still have an image)

Hughes - four or five Wonder Woman prelims

Davis - pages from Excalibur (versus Juggernaul), Another Nail (Batman and Joker falling into Hell), Detective Comics (Batman obviously), Wolverine Bloodlust and (best all) the front page from Full Circle (Reaper's helmet and scythes holding Batman's mask - simple yet beautiful)

Neal Adams - Superman image (been posted before)

JB - Darkseid con sketch (ebay) and, my all time favourite, Doom sketch drawn in front of my very own eyes in 1988.

Not in the same league as other's collections but it makes me happy!!!

Quickly, before anyone notices that this isn't figurine talk... great collection Simon! Reasons I'm jealous:- you got a Davis Excalibur page (versus Juggernaut aswell)! A Bolland Killing Joke prelim! An Adams Superman! It's a collection that would make me happy too!! I got a Davis Another Nail page, that I love, featuring all the (alternate) JLA and a JB AF page.

Anyway, back to those figurines, anyone stateside using the official stands?
