“Oh, but it can!”
This reminds me of a Stan caption. Very fun.

Incidentally, don't read anything into the fact that the story from which I took that banner DID turn out to be a hoax, sort of, several years later.

To quote all the Star Wars movies, "I got a bad feeling about this!"

I guess Phoenix is all about rebirth!
There’s a joke in here about “the least dead character in comics.” But since this Jean has never died, I’m not sure what it is!

Well now...
Today's "end of issue cliffhanger" makes complete sense in light of yesterday's "end of page cliffhanger", but is no less heart-stopping for it!
This must be torture for Scott and Ororo, and if Jean is "in there" and aware this must be her worst nightmare...
On a much lighter note, seeing Jean in the costume is a lot easier on the eye than when that poor police guy was filling it!

What a fantastic Dark Phoenix you've given us today, JB--everything she should be: beautiful, powerful, malevolent, and dangerous.

I am relieved for the unfortunate Phoenix-Cop, who seems to have survived his possession experience...though he may end up collateral damage if he doesn't skedaddle.

Oh my, oh my… But Isn’t that “poor soul”… uh… never mind…
Never get tired of seeing Jean and dark phoenix in the spotlight especially after the span between Elsewhen and the original run… and dark Phoenix is looking so good too!
Truly a wonderful gift… much thanks…

It's been 14 issues since Phoenix was last seen. I don't think it's too soon... I LOVE that final shot, even though it doesn't look good for that poor woman (Elaine?).
