Looking at the past 2 pages, seeing Magneto using the Scarlet Witch to manipulate Scott is nothing out of the ordinary.
Back in X-MEN #6, he used Wanda get the Prince Namor's attention.
I'm sure there are folks lurking on this forum going nuts.

Being told you are one of Liefeld's artistic influences must make the blood run cold :)
The Byrne/Davis/Pelletier thing is interesting, just because I see far more of Davis in Pelletier's style than Byrne. But if Davis was before influenced by Byrne, then there is an interesting through line there. Almost Adams---Byrne---Davis---Pelletier.

I don’t think Magneto would be a good villain if he is just one dimensional.•• Is anyone suggesting he should be? Marvel villains are traditionally more three dimensional than most that DC has to offer. But pushing Magneto into "good guy" status is a complete misreading of the character--and deeply depressing how many "fans" drank that koolaid. When I was gearing up on XHY there was much sound and fury in various X-Men chatrooms and boards that I was going to "turn Magneto into a villain". Even the most superficial reading of those complaints showed the posters had very limited experience of Magneto's history.

I think there is a little bit of a "power cult" mentality at play here. Some fans feel themselves drawn to very powerful characters (Alphas)---hence the desire for them to "be good" so that their idolatry is justified.
Not our most redeeming feature as humans.

Naturally, everyone would agree.
This idea of "dimension" in character is interesting. We all know we like it-- but what IS it?
A definition that I heard and like is that "dimension" in character means inner contradiction.
The cheap way to add dimension to a bad guy like Magneto is to make him "secretly" good. But making him more like a layer cake-- with delusions of superiority and messianic plans for mutants mixed in with an animal-lust for personal power and a narcissist's thin-skin opens him up to lots of unpredictable actions depending on what aspect is "in control" at any moment.
The "dimension" of him being an actual Malcolm X to Xavier's MLK flattens all this out.
