The number of ICE and Border Patrol agents there already outnumber the Minneapolis/St. Paul police force combined.
They are looking to agitate the peaceful protesters in those cities so that they can have an excuse to go "guns a blazin' " on the citizens.
Shit's going to get a lot worse long before there's a return to something close to normal.

JB, the Republican have seized on Good’s sexuality. A popular term of evil
has been describing her widow as “girlfriend or wife or whatever” and
disingenuously pretending they’re genuinely confused, using the identical
phrasing, over and over, Just a sick and disordered mess of a party.
Matt, thanks for representing! This has been a rough week for an activist
like me to be hospitalized so I am gratified to see so many people I respect
turn out to be counted for good.

Matt, good luck. Be wary and put to look for police agitators. I never really thought of that before even though I was aware of FBI informants infiltrating radical groups in the 60s. Then I saw "One Battle After Another" with the police infiltrating a peaceful protest with the guy who throws a Molotov cocktail, and I've been thinking about that with these protests. I know it sounds like paranoia but still...
The best to you and stay warm. My cousin lives in Minneapolis and will be going as well and he said the wind chill is supposed to be bad today.

It’s 22 degrees with a “feels like” temp of 5 degrees so, yeah, pretty cold! I’m going with a group comprised of my nephew, his wife and her brother. Driving together so as not to be out and about alone.
It’s not irrational to be nervous and/or afraid to attend rallies like this one given the current political climate, but that’s exactly what this admin and his supporters crave; a scared populace who don’t raise their collective voices against the hatred, intolerance and violence we’re sadly witnessing all over the country. I’ve been fairly vocal in expressing my opinions here and elsewhere, so didn’t want to just be a keyboard warrior. That’s easy. I honestly need to walk the talk, so to speak, and today is doing just that.

You’re right, of course, but I’m using disordered as a term of art
appropriated from the Catholic Church. The disorder is that the party wants
to be what it is.
