Haven't you heard, Brad? No one smokes in the Marvel Universe. They never have. Never never never...

Showing a character smoking might encourage one of our young and impressionable 38-year-old readers to take up the deadly habit and then die. Yes, die.

It is that important, dammit!

Meanwhile, the John Constantine figure, in the DC collection, is sporting a cigarette.

Hard to picture Nick Fury, JJJ, Logan, or Ben Grimm (at one of his poker games) not sporting a stogie, but what are you going to do? After all, Joe Quesada says they don't want to be a bad influence on kids by showing people lighting up!

Wait, the same Joe Quesada that doesn't believe kids read comics, and that regularly puts the above characters in books that wouldn't be appropriate for kids anyway?

Yeah, I can't figure it out either.

Mixed emotions on this. Sorry on the one hand to see the series end, but on the other, they have been straining the definition of "classic" for quite some time now!

Disappointing, but I don't buy many any longer. The DC collection is also done as of issue 120, they announced yesterday.  Here are the last 30 figures, most still to be released.  I don't see myself getting even half of these:

171. Thunderbird
172. Dracula
173. Avalanche
174. Arachne
175. Mockingbird
176. Domino
177. Tiger Shark
178. Nico Minoru
179. Sif
180. J. Jonah Jameson
181. Sebastian Shaw
182. Swordsman
183. Owl
184. Hammerhead
185. Longshot
186. Trapster
187. Shaman
188. Werewolf by Night
189. Gamora
190. Vance Astro
191. Wolfsbane
192. Moonstone
193. Firelord
194. Spider-Man 2099
195. Wiccan
196. Stingray
197. Deathbird
198. Hela
199. Danielle Moonstar
200. Constrictor

Specials left are TERRAX, MOJO and GIANT-MAN.

The upside is that I'll finally be able to figure out how much shelf space I need.

Space is getting tight, but still sad to see it go.
