Every time JB mentions Alpha Flight in a future appearance I chuckle because I know Ryan is somewhere losing his mind in anticipation!

Well, that page just blew a theory I had out of the water. Back to being completely clueless*.
Very much looking forward to seeing Alpha Flight back in action!
*Really I've been clueless the whole time, but at least it felt like I wasn't for a moment there :)

That bear looks as scary as Jean does haunted! This is one hell of an interwoven, multi-threaded issue of the X-Men. The kind of thing you only get when the A-story, B-story, C-story structure is handled by someone who really knows what they're doing.

That last panel brought Sienkiewicz to mind.

Those last two pages have really veered towards naturalism in a notable way. The close up of a pensive Jean paired with the ‘rabid’ fox. Man.

I once again just needed a little more patience when I recently mentioned this sub-plot.
“Now we find a woodland creature who, might it have the capacity, might ask a similar question.”
Hmm.

I love the use of the side of the pencil (or so it seems) on the lines of the bear.

Love pages like this where texture seems to be the focus. Pages like this make me want to see JB do his take on an illustrated Lord of the Rings.

Something about today’s page finally made something click in my brain pan. Uh oh!
Looking at the last panel of Jean on yesterday’s page brought to mind another side of JB’s talents. It was remindful of the FF years when a look back in time would be drawn in the Kirby style. There were times that I thought it was a reprint of the King’s work.
Mad respect for the respect shown to the true greats! (And, in my opinion, JB is one of the true greats.)

That last panel - primal.
Loving the different 'textures' we are getting in this series.
