I just realized, poor Misty Knight never knew the real Jean, either. She was sharing her flat with the Phoenix all that time, not the real Jean.•• Hm. When did Misty and Jean start sharing that apartment? Soon after Jean departed in 94, I'd think. Maybe even before that, if we assume Jean wasn't always living at the mansion.

I'm really liking the open hair Jean. I missed that look, and this is one of those times I wouldn't mind some color :-) Though it's a relaxed moment, I especially like the upper right shot of Jean today -lovely.

JB: No. I'm using dialog to indicate what can't really be expressed in the art, at least not at the level I want.I imagined Phoenix sort of buzzing with energy all the time. "Lobotomized" Phoenix less so, but still more than Marvel Girl.* *** Thanks!!

JB, about Misty, I had just checked before I posted and "Jean" talks about having just moved into Misty's flat in issue #105, while having Professor Xavier and her parents over for a visit.

I like the idea of Phoenix-Jean "buzzing with energy"-- it seems singularly appropriate for the character.

Oh, and that same scene I mentioned above is also when Lilandra appears in person before both Phoenix and Professor X, too, just before Firelord flies into the flat.

I don't think that's right Matt. We learn that Misty is Jean's room-mate while Jean is in the hospital in issue 102 so they must have already been sharing before the events of issue 98. Misty's dialogue here suggests to me that she'd had time to get to know Jean quite well.

This is the scene from 105. Nothing there indicates to me that Jean has only just moved in.

Robbie, I forgot that earlier scene. Phoenix does introduce Professor X to Misty as her roommate, and this was while she was still in the hospital recovering from the shuttle landing in the bay, so that would suggest the real Jean did know Misty, after all!
I just re-read these darn tales and already I am forgetting things! Thanks, Robbie !

Subplot in issue #17?! Very cool news.
Regarding; "Which she may or may not call herself", just not Anti-Phoenix, Phoenix Hunter, etc. =) On a more serious note, I cannot begin to imagine what would be different and appropriate, but I'm excited to find out.
To be honest, this point in Elsewhen is what I have been waiting for in the last year and a half. Knowing the direction of Elsewhen from the start, we have all been just sitting back to see how the story unfolds. Now that the dust is settling I am eager for the stories that come after this point. We are now in an area where there are no previous issues of the Uncanny X-Men that we juggle in our minds like Death of Phoenix or DoFP. From here on out it is new stories without wondering how to forget previous history with the X-Men. Love it!
