So, part of the reason that newer cars get written off is the array of sensors and whatnot that have to be replaced/recalibrated. Ideally, the Jag is old enough that it doesn't have those sorts of extras.

I'm happy to hear you're okay, JB--but sad to hear about the Jaguar!

It’s painful. That car has great emotional significance for me. When I got divorced, although it was all very amicable, under Connecticut law the financial impact was enormous. Buying the Jag felt very much like a declaration of recovery. “I’m back!!” I’m prepared to spend quite a bit more than the current market value to restore the car.

I'm glad you are okay John.
I feel second-hand emotional warmth from the thought that the car was chosen as part of some healing journey, and that the care now in someway continues that journey. Just feels nice and wholesome.
Hopefully the whole process of repair goes smoothly JB.

Damn. I'm glad you're ok! So sorry about the Jag though! Hopefully, it can be fully repaired and operational very soon.

Since the PT Cruiser currently has a dead battery, this experience is really making me aware of how dependent I am on my cars. I keep feeling muscle memory that wants to take me to Burger King or the deli. Trapped!
