Going back to sample an SK novel from back in 1998, based on the recommendation of a couple of my co-workers...

Just published. Fascinating. And that is the cover, not a mistake.

Just finished THE GOVERNER'S WIFE by Michael Harvey.
Now starting TRIPWIRE by Lee Child. the third Jack Reacher novel. Based on the description in this book, Jack should be played by The Rock.

My copy of HAMMER - THE HAUNTED HOUSE OF HORROR: THE DEFINITE HISTORY OF HAMMER FILMS has arrived (the title is a tad unwieldy).
Here's the description:
I doubt this will ever be in bookstores so it's website-only for now. £25 if outside the UK.
A quick glance suggests it certainly is definitive.

Fred - I read a little of it online while I was waiting for it to be delivered and it's well-written and I haven't found any glaring inaccuracies or acceptance of old anecdotes as fact (the author mentions how there are several versions of the old story about the golf game JLA conversation as inspiration for the Fantastic Four for instance) or exaggerations. Certainly nothing earth-shattering, but enjoyable so far.
