I am currently reading a French book essay on James Bond
from the movies ( comparison with the book version, the
construction and evolution of the movie myth, its
formulas, characters evolution, ... ).

Really enjoying the reading.

Now starting a new series by one of my favorite mystery/suspense writers... T. Jefferson Parker is one of only three authors who have won the Edgar Award for Best Mystery Novel twice during their career. Let's hope that this new series is up to his usual high standards... :-)

"The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson (published 1959)

Only my second time reading it, but so exquisitely written!

Just finished re-reading Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns for first time in quite a few years...

...And now re-reading Dracula for the first time in what must be over 25 years. He's no good that Dracula, I can tell you! Favourite detail so far that I'd completely forgotten is when Dracula laces the booze in the Westenra household with laudanum to stop the household staff from watching over Lucy. Machiavellian!

Arrowood, by Mick Finlay. I won an uncorrected proof copy off Goodreads several months back, but am just now starting on it.

The main character is supposed to be a Sherlock Holmes for the normal people (ie, not high society), and just like the Holmes stories, the book is narrated by his sidekick.
