As a guy who likes mystery novels that are set during or immediately after WWII, I decided to give a new author a try...

After reading a couple very good Christies from various eras, I decided to go back and start reading her stuff from the start in chronological order.  This one is her sixth and so far with the exception of half of one book, I've really enjoyed the ride.

Was a good summer.  I reread "A Tale of Two Cities" for the first time since high school 31 years ago.  Angered to learn that my high school textbook had abridged a lot of it (most of the London scenes had been excised) but as a full book and much more knowledge of the French Revolution, it's amazing.  Even David Mamet, who trashed Dickens in a Wall Street Journal article this summer said it's the only worthwhile Dickens novel.  (I disagree...but anyhow)

Graphic novel: "My Favorite Thing is Monsters" by Emil Ferris is a must. Great, great story. Gorgeous art and intriguing tale.  Just don't read with it resting on your belly, it's over 900 pages.

Am now reading "Duma Key" by Stephen King.

Paul:  I am about 70 pages into it right now and it is moving along nicely. Still another 300 pages to go before it wraps up but I hope that it finishes as well as it started. We will see ;-)

KILLING FLOOR by Lee Child.

---

That's the only Jack Reacher book I've ever read, but I enjoyed it.
