THE SILVER AGE ADAM STRANGE OMNIBUS

***

I've only read one Adam Strange tale in my life, an issue of DC COMICS PRESENTS, where he and Superman battled some villain (whose name I cannot remember) that wanted to crash two planets into each other. Sure one of them was earth.

I'm going to read more Adam Strange. 2017 was the year when I decided I'd check out some characters I've had little experience of.

THE SILVER AGE ADAM STRANGE OMNIBUS

My introduction to Adam Strange was a narrated comic book show featuring
the character that used to come on television when I was a kid.

James, how was the first Nick Mason book? I've been thinking of reading it since I saw it on Goodreads.

I'm currently finishing up THE UNDEAD WAR: TALES OF THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, edited by John L. Thompson. About 45 pages left to go.

Pretty good book, so far. There has only been one story I didn't really like, and another was good but had a lousy ending I saw coming. The rest have all been good.

Brian:

The first Nick Mason novel was okay. It wasn't the best book I have read from Steve Hamilton (that would be "The Lock Artist") but it left me curious as to how he was going to continue with the character.

"Exit Strategy" was also a decent read but it didn't leave me wanting to read any further in the series. I think I am going to move on to other authors in the genre.

James:

Thanks for the info. Crossing the book off my list.

Finished the book I was reading earlier. Trying to decide between 3 different books for my next one.

Bought this from Forbidden Planet:

I actually know little about the production/genesis of the show so am looking forward to completing this.

The intro, written by Adam West in 2015, is a little sad. He mentioned how Frank Gorshin continued to receive fan mail after his death. And then West said how he wasn't himself thinking of post-death fan mail just yet. And now he has passed away.

Only done one chapter so far (quite a few pics, too). Learning a bit about William Dozier and others. Chapter happened to mention how the network were looking to make a Dick Tracy series, but the newspaper that ran the strip wouldn't allow it. So we got BATMAN eventually.

It'll be interesting to read some anecdotes and learn more about the series.

I, ROBOT.  This is my first time reading anything by Asimov, and didn't even realize the book was a collection of connected short stories until I started reading; I had assumed it was a short novel.
I just finished "Robbie" and what a treat it was!  I can only hope the remaining stories are just as good.
