David Halberstam, The Education of a Coach.  The late author's 2005 treatment of Patriots coach Bit Belichick.  Finished it today, just in time for the Super Bowl.

I've just started Roots, the classic by Alex Haley. I've always wanted to read the book.

Re-reading The Belgariad by David Eddings after a long space of years. One of my favorite fantasy series next to Tolkien.

Just read STAR CARRIER: EARTH STRIKE by Ian Douglas. A good military sci-fi novel.

Starting GATHERING PREY by John Sanford.

Harriet Tubman: the Road to Freedom. A much-needed read for focus
on where we've been and where we could go again as well as the
change that can be effected by those with strong resolve.

Just finished Neal Gaiman's new book, Norse Myths.  Very enjoyable.  (The only thing that could improve it would be a Robt McGinnis cover on the inevitable paperback version!)    Trying to remember where I first encountered prose stories of the Norse gods as a kid--as rare as the Greek and Roman myths were relatively common.  One book I read in junior high school--I think I took it out of the library a dozen times was Thunder of the Gods.  Just ordered a used copy of it on Amazon for old sake's sake.
