LOVECRAFT COUNTRY by Matt Ruff; a juxtaposition of real life horror (black travelers during Jim Crow era America) and Lovecraft horror.  I haven't even gotten to the Lovecraft part yet and my anxiety is already acute!

Approaching the last chapters of LEONARD, by William Shatner. Kind of don't want to finish it, cuz I know how it ends.

FUZZY SAPIENS by H. Beam Piper

••

I read and enjoyed the first one, LITTLE FUZZY, in the early Seventies. For some reason I did not get around to the second, even tho I had bought both in a single volume. (My mother read and loved both of 'em. Probably the only science fiction she ever read!)

An audiobook, but the unabridged autobiography by Lauren Bacall, read by
her. Fun stuff...it's like having a brilliant dinner conversation.

Just over halfway through ANNO DRACULA: THE RED BARON

It's the second in the series, but I started reading in ahead of 1 by mistake. D'oh! (I'd found a hard copy of this a long time ago and put it away until I could find the first one. then I bought this again on Kindle etc. - I'm old, I get confused readily)

I'm enjoying it. The basic conceit is followed through on, the characters are interesting (enough), and the cast takes a lot of public domain characters (Dracula, Count Orlok, Dr Mabuse, Dr Moreau, that Re-Animator guy West) and real life people (Edgar Poe, the titular Red Baron, Herman Goering) and throws them in the mix, logically. It's like a precursor to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic, not the film).

Recommended if you like that sort of thing.

   Almost done with THE MARTIAN.

Wow, it is almost as if Matt Damon was born to play Mark Watney.

Finished LEONARD. I had no idea Shatner and Nimoy had a falling out toward the end. Sad.
