Phil Jimenez/Klaus Janson
+++

Very inspired pairing!!! Jimenez, like Perez, draws a Batman that is too neat
for my taste...Janson messes it up just enough to make it awesome!

Wow.... That Bright piece takes me back. His work on Iron Man was so
powerfully crisp and clean.

I like the dynamic element Mark Bright has brought to that piece with the energy trail from Iron Man's flight. You really feel the thump of him landing.

Ari:
That Jimenez/Janson piece is sweet.  It was used as a cover for a Wizard or Hero or one of those magazines, I believe.  I love that art combo.

Thanks for the info Matthew.   Phil says it's Wizard, but he can't recall much else. The pairing is not something I'd have ever thought would work, because Janson can be very overpowering on inks, but i love what they did

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Dave Sim:

Lots to say about this one...For awhile now Sim had been alone at the top of my "wish list" for my art collection.  I hesitated due to what seemed like a difficult method of communication (he's not online).  He ended up being VERY easy to work with and even gave me a personal phone call when it was all finished and shipped it overnight from Canada!

I requested his take on Marvel Team-Up 68 and asked for him to replace Spider-Man with Cerebus.  I suggested using one of his parody swamp monsters instead of Man-Thing but said it was up to him.  The only other specific request was that he include at least SOME lettering...I love his lettering!  I think he was able to do more with lettering than any comic artist I've ever been aware of.

When he called he asked how many artists I've had take on this cover and if John Byrne was aware of what I was doing with his cover...I sort of laughed and said, "Oh yeah, he's aware!"

Oh yeah, I should add that my wife contributed a monetary donation (and permission) for Valentine's Day and/or my birthday which went towards this!

What do you guys think?!?!?!?
