This might be a knit-pik (sp?) but I wish Jim would put a "NEW" next to the
latest pieces just to help me out a bit :(

Hi Folks,

I posted the beautiful Storm illo that JB drew a few weeks back on eBay this evening; I've also got a nice Wolverine page up for bids.

You can check out the auctions here:

I'll try to get some new pieces posted to my web-site this weekend.

Thanks for looking and happy collecting!

I would like to offer an observation of your WW art, JB - there's nothing wrong with the art; in fact, one of the only pieces of yours that I own - the first I ever bought, was a WW piece - and it's my favorite piece of art I own (Thanks, by the way, for signing it to me at the MOC!) - furthermore, I honestly think your WW was my favorite of your long-term mainstream Superhero books.

Now, having said that, and this is not a complaint about the work, but an observation about a trend in the art that some may have had feelings about... but on your Wonder Woman run I noticed something change in your character's faces; they took on a more... I don't have the right terms to describe this, but...some of the faces were "cartoony" I guess.  I enjoyed the look - this is why I noticed it - I found it gave people a better range of expressions, and didn't feel as... I don't know, "uptight" as your earlier work.  Also around this time, as much details and work was obviously put into each page, there was also a lot of... like... things looked... hairy?  A lot of things looked like they needed a shave, is my memory.  Again - I enjoyed the look; thought it added proper texture to the work.

Notice that those you "love your old stuff' basically love your work with Austin, where things were sleek and shinny, and more rigid faces - this was a newer, freer John Byrne.

I enjoyed it, though - for sure.

Hi Folks,

I updated the following DOA image galleries this evening:

Generations 2

Wonder Woman

Covers & More

Included in the Covers & More update is one of the original design sheets JB drew prior to taking over Wonder Woman.  There is also a cool unpublished illo of Cyclops up for grabs!

You can also check out some swell JB artwork I have on eBay, including the sweet Storm illo which ends Sunday evening, here:

I think Mike's comments are spot on. I would add that, earlier in the run, I
got the impression that you were "giving in" to the Image look/wave. It
was later that you really hit a DC groove, channelling a lot of Kubert and
Infantino.

I'm saving my pennies for another JB commission. Until then I must stay away from this temptress named the DOA website.
