 | notified me a few weeks back that it had shipped, but there had been no
further email with the tracking number, as usually comes within the next
couple of days. I was on the verge of contacting them to see if it had gone
astray, when the box turned up on my front step.

Nice job on this sculpt. Seems to fuse elements of Dave's and my versions
of the character. (Clearly Dave's pose, of course.)

Got Dave's hips, too -- which is a good thing! Hubba-hubba.

 | That's a great Phoenix statue!  Seeing it Photoshopped with the white is kinda neat.  After all these years of seeing the costume in green, the white is strange looking.   JB any idea why the costume's color was changed from what Dave intended? |

As far as I know, from what Dave told me at the time, there was no deliberate "change". He turned in the pages, assuming the costume would be colored as he intended, but apparently no one told the colorist, who went to green and yellow, since those were Marvel Girl's colors. Unfortunately, if I am remembering the sequence correctly, the next time Dave saw the job was the make-ready, and then it was too late.

 | (The make-ready was a coverless copy sent back to the office by the printer. In theory, it was the first off the presses, and any errors in the printing could be corrected at that point. In practice, it often seemed the make-ready was the last copy off the presses. I have no personal experience of any mistakes being caught and corrected in this fashion.) |

Of course the only thing missing on that statue is a Phoenix effect...

If they were going for the classic shot from X-Men#101, shouldn't Phoenix be screaming?

About the "white phoenix", it's looks great to me, really, but... in real life.

It would definitely not have had the same impact when it would have

 | first appeared. Having the next page show thru in every shot would have
 really muted the effect!!!

Hm, very nice ladies!  Barda still needs a little more meat in her bones, but, very nice, indeed.
