Colored Storm pic.  The photo background was perfect -- I had to use it!

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Lars, I have to be honest and admit that the background is more a serendipitous artifact from the scanner than the fruit of my talent!

Cool, Trevor! Some of that Daredevil almost looks like JR JR!

DC, awesome Storm!

Argh!

This looks like so much crap only because of the choice of paper.

It's on a glossy 20# stock, and the pencil can't be removed due to the @#$%' ink smudges when I erase!

Let this be a lesson to you! Don't do what I did!

(I swear it was going to look sooo cool if I could erase it better!)

One of the reasons that I used Bristol board, Joe.  Although you could still get smudges on that, if you were a bit heavy on the pencils and tried erasing too soon after putting the ink down, it was easier to remove excess pencil lines without worrying about pulling along some of the ink with the eraser.

Of course, the current technique that I'm using is to just use a real light blue pencil to lay out the picture before filling in the line art with a standard (2H or HB) graphite pencil.  After inking, I TWAIN scan the image within a photo-editing program (I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro) and remove the pencil lines using the color replacement brush.  It's as simple as selecting the pixel representing the pencil mark scanned, and replacing it with the pixels representing the blank page.

Yeah. I was at work, and just started doodling, and, like two young lovers with a bottle of Tequila, stuff just happened.

Blech and a half.
Sapphire's face just looks awful, and her gluteus started to smudge the second I tried to erase.
Double blech.

Here's something a little bit different: A hand-painted verse done in acrylics on a 12x16 canvas. It's based on the B&W illustration I did some time ago of Psalm 118:24.
