Charlie: It's very rare to find actual manga-style drawings on this board. Is there more that you've done? I generally move back and forth between the Western and Japanese styles myself. I'm more comfortable with what I've developed within the past 20 years after having been influenced by both (see the other sketches on this thread, and my DeviantART.com gallery for examples). A lot of people tend to knock it, and yet it can't be as bad as some of the stuff that's being done in comics today... Andy: It been a while since I used to see one of those chalkboards. I remember being in school when that was your basic means of learning in the classroom. Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Back in the day..." I also remember one art teacher who use to go so against the standard proportions used in that lesson. He insisted that the eyes were on a line two-thirds of the way up on the head, and the mouth resting on a line one-third down... Ben: Interesting take on the Boy Wonder there. Kind of reminds me of one of the old Warner Brothers cartoons that Chuck Jones used to work on.
