Excellent work everyone. I feel awful because I can't contribute with anything. But let's make a toast anyway. Cheers!

Awesome stuff-- I could spend the entire day browsing through these.  So glad I found this site-- I was a "Byrne-addic" growing up and could always pick out his artwork at first look...  like most everyone else here, I found my artistic inspiration from JB---- thanks!!!!  Your work is historic.

anyways- I've just picked up the pencil a few days ago and made a sketch for the first time in over 10 years!     the inked version was done in photoshop (my first attempt)...  I adjusted the overall perspective and wings  from the sketch because I thought he needed more lean...  The sword is a mere reference, I'll draw it separately and replace it....it's not complete but this is my own take on Gabriel :)   it's concept art for a music video I'm planning (hopefully)....

.

Welcome to the thread (and board), Paul. Your pic reminds me of RUSH, for some reason.

thanks for the welcome Mr. Britton-  I really like your felt pen/marker sketches-  my hands are so shaky if I tried that I'd pull a charlie brown and wind up with a big circly mess.  I'll stick to pencil and PS. :)

just now getting back into drawing--  seeing all the work on these threads has put me on a nostalgic trip to 25 years ago-- there's a couple of wolverine sketches in the first few pages of this thread that John Byrne posted that literally brought me back to my childhood!  -- That's pretty powerful...
