Art challenge at work, the theme is Australiana. I went with Blinky Bill (a classic kid's book koala down here), an Australian cattledog, and the "last of the V8 Interceptors" from Mad Max. Works for me! That countryside is very reminiscent of where I grew up, by the way - thousands of miles of bugger all.

Great illustration, Mal - love it!

I spent the morning installing my new 11"x17" Brother scanner (only $300 at Office Depot!!!) Naturally, the first painting I scanned was "MattCap." Still have to get used to the controls, but everything went real smooth and the first print I made came out pretty nice.

This is an 18x24 painting so it took 4 scans and some time to put it together, but well-worth the effort. I'm very close now to finally making prints of this thing. My only concern now is getting the colors adjusted right. I'm still having trouble getting the blues accurate. This is close, but still note quite like the original.
