Finished this fellow last night - New Years Eve party at the lake! Bring your own!

Trust everyone had a nice and satisfying Christmas, and wishing you all a safe and happy New Year.

Darren, please don't tell me that's "the Blulk"!  Very nice artwork regardless.

hi everyone

my name is charlie and i just joined. i've lurking for a while and i've been really appreciative of your artwork and supportive comments to each other (also on the other threads on the board). it's really inspired me to work on my own drawings that i do for fun. i love jb's work (duh!) and i am a fan of many people's work. anyway, i plan on posting on this thread more and the new artwork one because i was lucky to get a scanner for christmas. anyway nice to see your work and please keep posting because it does inspire people :) just so you know too that i am open to any constructive critiques. anyway here is my first piece:

the courier (after andy schmidt & marco chechetto)

Mal, I absolute love your art. The final result is amazing. All those shados and contrasts, it's just so very aquatic (an gorgeous) .

And Charlie, welcome to the board . Hope you survive the experience . Now, seriously, I like that Courier character . Good job!

I think my next sketch will be pencil only. The ones I inked don't look bad, but they usually take me longer to finish.

Andy, LOL, "No", not the Bulk!

I have a character called "Riptide" who in the early nineties I had been developing and generaly mucking about with. I imagined him as red skin in colour, however, what with the "RULK" running around in recent memory, I figured he'd -look- too like him:( and so went with blue here.

As an aside, it's been so long since I've drawn him, I've clean forgot his little horns on his head!

It's my age;)
