Arc, we -all- have talent but most of it lies untapped. What you lack, it would appear, is self belief.

What's that Eddison saying?, "genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration!" or something very similar.

Art is the same, we can't improve without putting the hours in! We all advance at different paces and all any artist has the right to hope for is that they enjoyed the experience, because inevitably there will be dissatisfaction with your own product! If there isn't,where's the drive to better the next time;)

Arc- my favorite new saying is from Top Gear.

"Ambitious but rubbish!"

Man, it's terrifying trying to find a starting point for all those rocks.
Sooner or later, tho, ya gotta start somewhere.

I agree with you, and in fact that sounds like something my therapist would say to me.

Anyway, I stopped practicing for years and I have only started drawing again last year. So I still need to improve a lot, and I feel like I shouldn't have stopped drawing all  those years. I might actually be better by now if I hadn't given up.

Long time lurker - infrequent poster...been kinda swamped. Here's some bad guys I doodled once for a hobby project.
Arc, as long as it's fun, just keep noodlin. Improvement is inevitable - if anyone spends enough time at something they're bound to get proficient.
For instance - it's apparent that I don't spend a lot of time drawing city streets judging by these doodles!

Awesome work Warren, lurk no more;)

Joe, please post that to the R3 thread, it's awesome!

Arc, I feel that my goals are to try and find some real enjoyment in each drawing and hope that I make a better job than the last. Those two boxes don't rely on talent or skill, just me.

If, overtime, I get good enough that other people enjoy wha they see, then I'm lucky.
