Hi guys, here's another one. Having a crack at some fantasy creatures and monsters this time - mainly working on my backgrounds and comp. Not a sketch, I know, but I'm pretty happy with the finished product. First up, the Lamia...

Amazing work. That Lamia is great, and I love the temple in the back and the fallen tree. Maybe the only thing I don't like is her bra (if she is a monster she shouldn't be covering herself up). I'm just kidding.

This is a piece I finally was able to obtain.  I always liked how the Buscemas did Tarzan and his surroundings.

When you draw a Super Hero it's not a normal human being in my eyes!

I can draw humans but I can't seem to get the "super" aspect.

That's a good Buscema page. Tarzan looks a bit like Conan.

Thanks Arc!!  Yeah, I thought the same thing.  The only thing he needs is to show his knife on his side.  That would complete the drawing.  I just need to get the comic and see if he lost it or we just need to know he does have it for sure.

Oh No!  The sketchbook thread has been invaded by the new art thread!

Still very nice pieces though James!

Sorry Jason.  I am new to this and will make sure to only do the sketches only.

James - No biggie I just don't want anyone to miss any of your pieces.  A lot of the forum is really into art or collects but don't have the artistic skills to sketch!

You need to buy that issue . I now I would want to have it.

The Chen page is quite good. By the way, would it be OK to ask you how much did you have to pay for both?

No problem.  The Tarzan piece cost was $400 and the Sean Chen piece cost was $65.  I got more art to show, but I need to figure out how to make the pixel size smaller, so I can post it for all to see.  I got some Herb Trimpe art of Godzilla and one of Wolverine, Dick Giordano Superman style guide piece, Gary Frank GEN13 piece.  I will try and post on the art site for you and all to see.  Thanks for the compliments, too.

Cool stuff everyone! I have been out of touch for a week so its fun to come back and see what everyone has been up to.
I especially like the JPB and gill Dowling collab - the JPB and Darren Taylor character exchange and Mal's Lamia! Lovely Mal!
